The Deadmines will be the first instance you can do when you hit level 15. This isn't the Deadmines you know however. * The physical layout of where to go may be familiar but the enemies and bosses are all different. * You start the dungeon getting a quest (basically to kill the first boss). Whats really neat here is when you kill the boss you get a quest complete icon in the top right that you just click and get your reward. This is while you are continuing through the dungeon. You don't have to go back to the guy you got it from. Then you move through some trash mobs while it looks like you don't have any follow up quests. When you get into the next room that has a boss coming up though your quest log automatically adds the next quest in the chain for you to complete (killing the next boss). This happens for each boss which is a very fun experience having a dynamic quest chain that makes sure that no one gets left out by missing part of the quest or anything. This should make for some interesting changes in the way chain instance quests work. All for the better. * You also get the ability in Deadmines to use the cannons you find throughout the dungeon against the enemies. They are vehicles that you get to use until they are destroyed (you don't lose any health until they are destroyed). * There are also some robots that you can control about half way through the instance as well. Adding the vehicles to the instance makes for a more dynamic experience. You will find yourself fighting for the ability to jump on a vehicle first though :) * Finally at the end you get to the ship that we are all familiar with, except the ship is different, including a bunch of mobs shooting cannons at you from the ship that will shoot you into the water if you don't time running to the ship correctly. This was frustrating at first until you understand the timing. Fun little gauntlet type run to get past the cannon balls though. * The last boss (not cookie, but cookie is still here), is a worgen. He has some great sounds and speeches and the battle was a lot of fun. * Playing the deadmines through 2 times had me leveled from 15 to 18 so you get a lot of good experience in here as well. |
